Experience Nature Above and Below: KarstView Hike & Cave Tour this June

Karst View Hike & Cave Tour

Get ready to explore the wonders of the surface and the subterranean with our KarstView Hike & Cave Tour, offered on select Sunday evenings in June6/1, 6/8, 6/22, and 6/29, from 4:00 to 5:30pm at Cave of the Mounds.

This special guided experience is your chance to connect with the landscape in a truly unique way. It begins with a scenic hike through the karst terrain that defines this part of Wisconsin—a rolling, rocky landscape full of sinkholes, fissures, and exposed limestone. As you walk, our expert guides will reveal the story of how water shaped this environment over millions of years and continues to do so today. You’ll learn about the geological features around you and the rare ecosystems they support.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there.

After your hike, you’ll journey below ground into the stunning chambers of Cave of the Mounds. This guided cave tour showcases the dazzling beauty of this National Natural Landmark—from intricate crystal formations to shimmering mineral deposits that line the cave walls. It’s a breathtaking contrast to the world above and a reminder of the power and patience of nature.

Whether you’re a geology enthusiast, nature lover, or simply looking for a unique evening out, the KarstView Hike & Cave Tour offers an unforgettable experience above and below the surface.
